Petite Yume Mission Statement

Hey everyone, this is valkyrie_chan . I've been helping out mintey with the lolita webzine we've been trying start up, petite_yume . We've finally written a mission statement of sorts, and have a more formal call for the type of submissions we'd like to see. Sorry for the bad cut earlier...I don't usually use rich text format and it's screwing me up hardcore...I think it's all right now.

Inspired by the talents of the lolita community, Petite Yume will be a seasonal online magazine covering lolita fashion outside Japan. While other magazines have tried to focus on explaining lolita to young beginners, we aim to provide content for a more mature lolita, who already has a firm footing in the fashion and wants to learn the finer points. We hope for submissions that capture the beauty, fun, and wit of lolita fashion:

Articles that both showcase lolitas around the world as well as those that have an informative tone. Profiles, tutorials, patterns, hair and makeup advice are all essential to our magazine. However, we hope to couple that with thought-out, researched articles on subjects that haven't really been covered before. Lolita is a kaleidoscope; the fashion means different things to different people and takes on many different forms. Who are we? What is inspiring us? How can we improve? What's going on in our community that needs praise, or a closer look? We want articles that are going to spark thought and discussion, as well as ones that are light-hearted and fun.
Artwork of all styles, as long as it's eye candy! Comics, realistic drawings, stylized drawings, or traditional art included.
Photos-- from daily snaps to meetups to photoshoots and photo stories. We want to see how you're wearing lolita, from the most casual outfits to the most theatrical, over the top ensembles.
Short fictional pieces about lolita fashion.
Tutorials for crafts, baking, home decor, sewing or whatever else.
Advertisements for the businesses that are helping lolita grow outside Japan.

Right now I'd like to make a call for submissions, suggestions, or even just comments about what you've liked or disliked in other magazines. If you think something would be interesting or fun, don't hesitate to pitch the idea, even if you don't want to contribute to the magazine yourself. I've also gotten some feedback that people appreciate reading some silly, fun content. So I thought for our snaps section, those planning on submitting photos should include their name, location, age, and the answer to this question:

"People have made themed lolita outfits for everything from Star Wars to Superman. What would be the funniest theme for a lolita outfit, and why?"
